Quality Coordinator – HVEX (Lephalale)

The primary purpose of the quality coordinator is to ensure that project quality processes are adhered to and project execution is done in accordance with standards and specifications.

Main job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Review and update project quality assurance standards, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Oversee implementation of and adherence to standards, policies, processes, and procedure.
  • Review vendor and contractor quality management plans.
  • Monitor and audit implementation of vendor/contractor quality management plans (QMPs).
  • Develop and implement sampling system to monitor adherence to quality control plans (QCPs).
  • Do physical spot checks to confirm adherence to QMPs and QCPs.
  • Identify deficiencies regarding adherence to QMPs and QCPs, request corrective action and monitor successful implementation of corrective actions.
  • Identify quality-related lessons learnt and roll out across project.
  • Schedule and implement quality audits based on project risk exposure and issue reports based on findings.
  • Interact with design consultant quality inspectors to verify execution of quality assurance mandate and obtain information on quality deviations detected; take corrective action based on QA feedback.
  • Investigate quality deviations and non-conformances, propose corrective action, and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
  • Liaise with engineering manager, construction managers, and contract managers regarding quality deviations and corrective actions.
  • Submit periodic quality reports to project management team.

Education and experience:

  • Quality certification essential (quality auditor, quality engineer, quality improvement associate, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience.
  • Experience with implementation of corrective actions programs.
  • Experience in manufacturing and construction environment.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
